Ashcroft Transmissions are renowned Land Rover transmission specialists, and their conversion replaces the original manual gearbox with a proven ZF 4-speed automatic transmission, incorporating a dedicated electronic transmission control system to provide smooth, carefully managed gear changes.
Crucially, the conversion is designed to retain the Defender’s original four-wheel-drive system, including its high and low range gearing and centre differential lock, ensuring that its legendary off-road capability remains intact.
